Now that the opposition has settled and the new casino games, along with domestic sports betting, have launched, the state is expecting an additional $750 million a year in revenue from the services. According to some experts, revenue potential could grow to $6 billion by 2030.
Revenue from Florida’s tribal casinos is expected to fund water quality projects around the state. One of the first tasks is the Central and South Florida Water Management System, which provides water to more than 9 million residents. Any additional revenue is expected to go toward the Water Protection and Sustainability Program Trust Fund, which aims to reduce pollutants from fertilizer and septic runoffs.
